A new death and 751 new cases of coronavirus, the Ministry of Health announced today.
In more detail:
- One person has died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 113.
- 153 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 51 are in serious condition.
- 13,482 disease detection tests have been performed using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 751 new cases of COVID-19 disease were identified by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test, bringing the total number of cases to 20,408.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
One person who has died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concerns:
- Man, aged 81, with underlying diseases, who was being treated at Limassol General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 113, of which:
- 74 men (65%), and
- 39 women (35%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 80 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 153 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in OKYP hospitals, 51 of whom are in serious condition.
Of the 51 patients critical, 28 are intubated in an Intensive Care Unit and 23 in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):Of the 13,482 laboratory diagnoses carried out today with the molecular method (PCR), 751 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 194 cases from 1,303 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 3 cases from 480 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 51 cases from 244 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 45 cases from 327 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 7 cases from 110 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through Public Health Clinics.
- 2 cases from 137 samples taken as part of a re-examination carried out on the 7th day following the arrival of persons who have returned from the United Kingdom and are under mandatory restriction in hotels in the Republic.
- 449 cases from 10,881 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
