In the context of its modernisation and upgrading, the Police renewed its Motor Fleet with the introduction of 49 "smart" patrol cars, to meet the needs of Cyprus, to prevent road accidents on both the main and secondary roads.
As stated in a statement, the new "smart" patrol vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art technological systems such as automatic plate recognition (A.N.P.R.) as well as Speed Control systems.
The Police, the communication adds, continues to renew its vehicle fleet, aiming to upgrade its operational capacity, thus contributing to increased road surveillance, with the ultimate aim of reducing serious and fatal road accidents.
