The current report of 318 cases of COVID-19 positives has reached 318 cases of covid-19, of which 132 involve people who in previous days had tested positive for rapid tests and subsequently underwent a molecular examination and are now officially confirmed as cases.
Therefore, and on the basis of the data so far, the total number of cases amounts to 10,883. In total, 131 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS.
Please note that the 14 positive results from a rapid test at the Panagia 2 nursing home in Limassol announced on Sunday were all verified by the molecular method and included in the 132 verifications.
The Ministry of Health informs that a total of 10,962 tests have now been carried out to detect COVID-19 disease.
A. Molecular Examination (PCRtest): Of the 10,962 laboratory tests, 3,233 laboratory diagnoses were carried out using the molecular method (PCR), with 186 cases of COVID-19 disease resulting as follows:
- Of 591 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases, 78 cases were identified.
- Of 1,524 samples taken through a private initiative, 67 cases were identified.
- Of 366 samples taken as part of a passenger and repatriated check, 11 cases were identified.
- Of 282 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 22 cases were identified.
- Of 249 samples taken as part of the referral programme by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics, 3 cases were identified.
- Of 9 samples taken in Limassol Province as part of a check of workers who fall under the exemptions for travel to and from the Limassol and Paphos Provinces, 5 cases were detected.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- From samples taken as part of the control programme for pupils, teachers and school staff, 37 laboratory diagnoses were completed,
- From samples taken in the Nicosia Province as part of a check of workers who fall under the exemptions for travel to and from the Provinces of Limassol and Paphos, 15 laboratory tests were carried out,
- From samples taken in Paphos Province as part of a check of workers who fall under the exemptions for travel to and from the Provinces of Limassol and Paphos, 8 laboratory diagnoses were completed,
- From samples taken in larnaca province as part of a check of workers who fall under the exemptions for travel to and from the Provinces of Limassol and Paphos, 2 laboratory diagnoses were completed,
- From samples taken from the residents of Kato Pyrgos Tylliria, 54 laboratory diagnoses were completed, and
- From samples taken under the laboratory testing programme carried out in nursing homes and other structures, 96 laboratory tests were carried out.
B. Antigenrapidtest test: Of the 10,962 tests, 7,729 were performed using the rapid test method, with 153 positive results, identified as follows:

In addition, the molecular test method verified the positive result for 132 samples of positive results detected through the rapid antigen test method in the previous days. In addition a positive result from rapid tests was not verified by the molecular method. Positive rapid antigen detection tests confirmed by the PCR method are included in the total number of cases below.
C. Hospitalized:
A total of 131 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in OKYY hospitals, as follows:

Twenty-one cases, the two domestic, were detected in the last 24 hours in the occupied territories by 1375 laboratory tests. As broadcast from the occupied territories, a statement by the "Minister of Health", Ali Pyli states that 7 people who came by air were positively identified, 9 by sea, 3 are contacts of confirmed cases and were quarantined and 2 are domestic. Six people were discharged today. The total number of tests in the occupied territories is 266,380 and the cases 1129. 95 people are being treated.
