182 NEW CASES AND ONE DEATH MONDAY

The death of a male patient with COVID-19, aged 72, with underlying diseases, who was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of nicosia General Hospital, is announced. The final cause of death is attributed to COVID-19 disease. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 49.33 men (67%) and 16 women (33%), with an average age of 75 years.

At the same time of the 7,551 laboratory tests, 2,461 laboratory diagnoses were carried out using the molecular method (PCR), with 103 cases of COVID-19 disease, while the PCR method confirmed 79 positive rapid tests.

    Therefore, and on the basis of the data so far, the total number of cases amounts to 10,565.

    In addition, the Ministry of Health informs that a total of 7,551 tests have now been carried out to detect COVID-19.Of 354 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases, 59 cases were detected.

    • Of 404 samples taken through a private initiative, 14 cases were identified.
    • Of 368 samples taken as part of a passenger and repatriated check, 2 cases were identified.
    • Of 244 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 16 cases were detected.
    • Of 222 samples taken as part of the referral programme by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics, 1 case was identified.
    • Of 340 samples taken in Limassol Province as part of a check of workers who fall under the exemptions for travel to and from the Limassol and Paphos Provinces, 2 cases were detected.
    • Of 107 samples taken in Nicosia Province as part of a check of workers who fall under the exemptions for travel to and from the Limassol and Paphos Provinces, 7 cases were detected.
    • Of 134 samples taken in Paphos Province under the control of workers who fall under the exemptions for travel to and from the Limassol and Paphos Provinces, 1 case was detected.
    • Of 127 samples taken in Larnaca Province as part of a check of workers who fall under the exemptions for travel to and from the Limassol and Paphos Provinces, 1 case was detected.

    In addition, the following laboratory tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:

    • From samples taken as part of the control programme for pupils, teachers and school staff, 52 laboratory diagnoses were completed,
    • From samples taken under the laboratory testing programme carried out in nursing homes and other structures, 86 laboratory tests were carried out, and
    • From samples taken in Famagusta Province as part of a check of workers who fall under the exemptions for travel to and from the Limassol and Paphos Provinces, 23 laboratory diagnoses were completed.
