RAPID TESTS AND PCR CONTINUE IN PAPHOS

It resumed yesterday and continues today, Friday, the population control program using the rapid test method, in Paphos, while the MOLECULAR PCR test for workers is under way.

In a statement to THE CYPE, Mediwell Home Healthcare Services Director Zenon Zenon said the company's ranks would be located on Friday from 09.00am to 5 pm in Kisonerga, st. Konon's Church.

Mr. Zenonos noted that mobile units observe all safety and hygiene measures, with rapid service and without forming queues. He also urged people who may have experienced any symptoms, such as sore throats, coughs, fever or headaches, to come to be examined to know if they are positive or negative to COVID-19 or if they have a typical cold.

So far, the results of the rapid test in Paphos are optimistic and encouraging, but there are also positive cases and there is no room for complacency, and there are also people without symptoms who have been positively diagnosed, he said.

The President of K.S. Kisonerga Giorgos Stylianou in his statements to the CYPE called on the public to give their presence en masse and to take advantage of the opportunity to be examined free of charge, while he also thanked the Ministry of Health and the company.

As stated in a communication from the Ministry of Health, the programme is aimed at all citizens, with priority given to those employed in public service areas, distributors and frontline professionals. Citizens will be informed of the result of their laboratory examination by text message within 24 hours, but also in writing, if they wish, by the mobile units within 30 minutes of sampling.

In the meantime, according to an announcement by NIPD Genetics, which undertook to staff sampling stations in the provinces of Limassol and Paphos, sampling continues today 27 November in the Stadium Parking Area "Stelios Kyriakidis" (formerly Pafiakos) from 08.00 to 18.00 in the afternoon. It is clarified that in the parking lot of the Pafiakos Stadium sampling will be carried out in two points A and B.

This programme is aimed only at workers who fall under the exemptions for travel to and from the Provinces of Limassol and Paphos, in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Health, dated 12 November 2020.

Finally, rapid tests begin at the weekend in nursing homes, rehabilitation centers and other closed structures, starting from the Provinces of Paphos and Limassol.
