CORONAVIRUS - TRANSPORT MINISTRY ANNOUNCES RESTRICTED CAPACITY ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The transport ministry on Monday announced new measures regarding public transport, which came into effect at 6am.

Under the new decree, the exact number of passengers buses, shuttle services to airports and taxis are allowed to carry in all districts is defined by their licensed capacity.

All public transport will operate at 50 per cent of its capacity, the health minister announced on Friday as part of the new measures.

Regarding regular bus services, the transport ministry said, where passengers pay fares arrangements will be made to add buses at peak hours when the number of passengers will go above 50 per cent capacity.

The use of a protective face mask is mandatory for employees and all passengers, regardless of age.
