The Ministry of Health announces that in addition to the three deaths announced earlier today, the death of another male patient with COVID-19, aged 80 years, with underlying diseases, who was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of nicosia General Hospital, is announced. The final cause of death is attributed to COVID-19 disease.
The total number of deaths, with the final cause of COVID-19, is 38, 24 men and 14 women, with an average age of 75 years.
In addition, the Ministry of Health informs that, according to an update received today by the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit from contracting laboratories, a total of 3,088 laboratory diagnoses identified 207 new cases of COVID-19 disease.

Therefore, and on the basis of the data so far, the total number of cases amounts to 6,853.
In addition, 42 people tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at Famagusta General Hospital, five of whom are in the Increased Care Unit. A total of eight patients are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of nicosia General Hospital, two of them off the ventilator. Another nine people are being treated in a COVID-19 ward at Nicosia General Hospital.
In addition to the 4 deaths that have occurred in the last 24 hours, it is worrying that all current positive people in the virus are domestically transmitted, since the laboratory carrying out tests at the airport has so far not sent results from passengers. From a first reading of the available data we have on today's incidents, more than half of today's cases are from Limassol Province.
