Another male patient with COVID-19, aged 86, with a serious medical history, who was being treated at Famagusta General Hospital, has been announced. The final cause of death is attributed to COVID-19 disease. The total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 disease is 34.21 men (62%) and 13 women (38%), with an average age of 75 years.
In addition, the Ministry of Health informs that, according to an update received today by the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit from contracting laboratories, a total of 2,891 laboratory diagnoses identified 185 new cases of COVID-19 disease.
In detail, today's cases emerged as follows:- Of 653 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases, 54 cases were identified.
- Of 1,127 samples taken through a private initiative, 107 cases were detected.
- Of 242 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 16 cases were detected.
- Of 175 samples taken as part of the programme of referrals by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics, 1 case was identified.
- Of 270 samples taken as part of the control programme for pupils, teachers and school staff, 5 cases were identified.
- From 1 sample taken as part of the migrant structure control programme, 1 case was identified.
- Of 70 samples taken as part of a sample check carried out by the COP on Associations participating in its competitions, 1 case was identified.
In addition, the laboratory test of 353 samples taken as part of a passenger and repatriated check was completed, without the detection of cases.
Therefore, and on the basis of the data so far, the total number of cases amounts to 6,646.
In addition, 51 people tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at Famagusta General Hospital, six of whom are in the Increased Care Unit. In addition, a total of seven patients are hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital, two of them off the ventilator. Another ten people are being treated in a COVID-19 ward at nicosia General Hospital.
At 100% of its fullness is the Famagusta Increased Care Unit.
