A dramatic first in the number of deaths recorded so far marked the past week. From 8 to 15 November, 14 people died in hospitals in Cyprus due to the coronavirus, a number which, although perhaps not seems large, certainly causes, for the size of the population of Cyprus, serious concern and concern. After all, the numbers give a clear picture. Since the onset of the pandemic in Cyprus last March, a total of 40 deaths of patients who had the final cause of the coronavirus have been recorded. This means that almost a third of all deaths occurred in the previous 8 days.
Yesterday, a total of 73 patients were treated in Famagusta and Nicosia hospitals. Nine in the Intensive Care Unit, while six others receive mechanical support in the Increased Care Unit.
At the same time, during the last week (until yesterday), the Ministry of Health announced a total of 1,307 new cases of coronavirus.
Yesterday, the report brought 127 new cases of coronavirus, of which 121 were domestic infections and resulted from 2,824 laboratory tests.
Worryingly, the proportion of cases resulting from laboratory tests carried out as part of the tracing process remains quite high. Yesterday, a total of 638 laboratory tests revealed 67 new cases involving people who had been reported as contacts of confirmed cases that had been reported in the previous days.
