The Cyprus Dentists Association has issued recommendations to the public that take into consideration the instructions of the Health Ministry on social distancing and safety in the workplace of health professionals as well as the professions’ code of conduct.
It says that the public must telephone before visiting the dentist and to answer questions on their medical history relating to the SARS-CoV-2 virus precisely.
“This is very important so that the visit can be programmed depending on the state of your health and the kind of treatment you require,” it said.
The public must respect the appointment set by the dentist to visit so as to give time for disinfection after each patient, and to avoid crowding in the waiting room.
Patients are advised to go without a companion. Exceptions can be made only for small children and those requiring help.
A mask must be worn on entering and at all times in the waiting room. Patients must also clean their hands with antiseptic available at the entrance.
