27/03/2020 16:32:00

Special attention is being given to the public by the Police, to protect against fraudulent telephone
and / or social networking platforms, which are sent to citizens with the aim of extracting their
personal information and credit card details.

According to information received by the police from a number of citizens and from a company
selling electronic and other products, phone messages are sent to citizens' phone numbers and
personal accounts held by citizens on a social networking platform, which states that the
company is selling electronic products. is running a competition and how people who receive
the message have won one of the prizes or prizes.

Malicious messages refer to an electronic link - called by people who receive messages to opt-in
to check their prize, while in other cases this link is in text form, such as "Check My Prize" . By
selecting the links that appear in the malicious messages, citizens are then asked to enter various
personal data, including their credit card details.

By using this information on their citizens and their credit cards, fraudsters are able to extract
money from citizens' bank accounts. The public is also expected to be particularly cautious of
other similar messages that may be received either by telephone or online.
