LIST OF ROADS CLOSED DUE TO BAD WEATHER GROWS EVEN LONGER

Many roads in all areas of Cyprus remain closed or are open only to vehicles with four-wheel drive or snow chains after heavy rain and snowfall throughout Tuesday evening and early hours of Wednesday caused powercuts and road accidents.
The Amargetis – Kelokedaros – Natas and Galataria – Salamiou roads in the Paphos district remain closed due to the overflowing of the Xeros river while the bridge of river Jelefos remains closed for the same reason.


Due to landslides, the following roads have been closed:
Panayia – Stavou – Agios Fotios
Arminou – Filousa
All roads leading to Troodos, from Prodromos, Karvounas and Platres are impassable as is the road from Platres to Trooditissa.

Also closed are the following roads:
Palaichori – Agros
Alona – Agros
Polystypou – Lagoudera
Lagoudera – Chandria
Alona – Polystypou.
According to police, roads open for vehicles with four-wheel drive or snow chains are:

With a growing number of roads closed due to heavy snowfall in the mountains, 15 schools and kindergartens will remain closed on Wednesday.
According to the education ministry, the following are affected:
Omodhos gymnasium
Lemithou gymnasium
Agros gymnasium, primary school and kindergarten
Pelendri primary school and kindergarten
Kyperounda primary school and kindergarten
Pachna primary school and kindergarten
Trimiklini primary school and kindergarten
Kalo Chorio primary school and kindergarten
Platres kindergarten
Panayia primary school and kindergarten
Palaichori primary school and kindergarten
Farmaka primary school and kindergarten
Kambos primary school and kindergarten
Ayios Epiphanios primary school and kindergarten
Moutoulla kindergarten
