THIS IS THE ''POLICE OFFICER''' WHO HAS BEEN DECEIVING CITIZENS BY IMPOSING FINES - Pafos Press 26/10

A case involving a man allegedly posing as a police officer to deceive citizens—by demanding they pay on-the-spot fines—has caused significant alarm.

The Police are investigating instances where elderly individuals in Kalo Chorio, Larnaca, were deceived and allegedly had sums of money taken from them. At the same time, authorities are examining whether the suspect is the same individual allegedly involved in similar cases recently in Nicosia.

According to an update from the Police, the suspect is identified as 44-year-old Andreas Louros. His details and photograph have been released to the public to assist with the investigation into a case involving the obtaining of goods under false pretences and impersonation.

The offenses were allegedly committed between February and October 2026, in the Nicosia district. The Police urge anyone with information that could assist in locating him to contact the Nicosia CID at 22802222, their nearest Police Station, or the Citizens' Line at 1460.
