ROAD DELAYS - PAPHOS-LIMASSOL MOTORWAY AT AYIA VARVARA - Pafos Live 14/10
Following the strong reactions and inconvenience caused to citizens by maintenance works on the road surface of the Limassol - Paphos Motorway, the department of public works today changed the program.
Traffic is now carried out both ways on the highway and only the section in which the works are being carried out at the height of Agia Varvara and Konia is cut off without the need to divert traffic to the old Paphos-Limassol road.
Yesterday, due to the dense traffic and the congestion that was observed, citizens complained that they suffered for hours in their vehicles in order to go from work to their home, to take their children to tutoring centers, while the MP of AKEL Paphos, Valentinos Fakontis, stated that there were also cases where citizens missed their flights due to late arrival at the airport.
According to the department of public works, until Friday, October 16, between the hours of 08:00 in the morning and 16:00 in the afternoon, road maintenance works will be carried out on the Limassol - Paphos Motorway, in sections near Agia Varvara and Konia in the direction of Paphos.
Citizens and provincial officials suggest that these works could be carried out during the evening hours, reducing the inconvenience to a minimum.
