POLICE CAMPAIGN - 4 OCTOBER - ADDRESSING VIOLATIONS RELATED TO USE OF PROTECTIVE HELMETS, AND USERS OF PERSONAL MOBILITY DEVICES - Filenews 3/10

The Cyprus Police is conducting a policing campaign tomorrow, Sunday, October 4, 2026, with the aim of preventing and addressing violations related to the use of protective helmets by motorcyclists, mopeds, cyclists and users of personal mobility devices.

The campaign is carried out in the context of the continuous efforts of the Police to strengthen road safety and raise awareness among all road users.

The data on road collisions demonstrate the seriousness of the issue. Since the beginning of the year, 18 people have lost their lives in road collisions involving motorcyclists, moped drivers, users of personal mobility devices, cyclists.

During tomorrow's campaign, members of the Police will carry out checks on a nationwide basis, with particular emphasis on the use of the prescribed protective helmet. At the same time, special attention will be paid to other serious road safety-related offences, such as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, speeding, negligent, reckless or dangerous driving and violation of a red light.

The Cyprus Police calls on all road users to comply with the Road Traffic Code and to show responsibility and special attention during their movements.
