"POLICE 2030'' WAS PRESENTED TO THE POLICE DIRECTORS BY ARNAOUTIS - THE THREE PILLARS AND THE CHANGES THAT ARE COMING - Filenews 9/10

Following systematic planning, preparation and evaluation, the Cyprus Police is proceeding with the organized implementation of the "Police 2030" Program, the overall strategy for its modernization and organizational evolution in the coming years.

Mr. Themistos Arnaoutis, Chief of Police, today presented the Programme to the Police Directors and Commanders, marking the beginning of a new period for the Cyprus Police, with specific goals, projects and actions.

"Police 2030" aims to create a modern, flexible and reliable European Police, with a strong operational capacity, modern means and infrastructure and human resources with the knowledge and skills required by today's security environment.
The focus is on the substantial upgrading of the way the Police operates, with the aim of more effective prevention and treatment of crime, faster response to incidents, better service to citizens and strengthening the sense of security in society.

The Programme is developed in three strategic pillars:

Operational Capability and Efficiency, with the aim of enhancing the ability of the Police to effectively prevent, respond and manage any form of criminal threat and critical situation.

Human Resources, with continuous investment in the members of the Police, in the training and development of skills, in the improvement of management processes and in the enhancement of professional integrity and development.

Technology, by upgrading information infrastructure, interconnecting systems, enhancing cybersecurity and developing modern digital services.

Central to the new operating model is Intelligence Led Policing, which enhances the ability of the Police to systematically utilize information and risk analysis for more timely and informed operational decisions, better utilization of available resources and more targeted action.

An important milestone is the start of the implementation of C3 (Command-Control-Communication) – Command, Control and Communications Center, one of the major projects of the Program. C3 will enhance operational coordination, incident management and communication with citizens, contributing to a faster and more effective response of the Police.

The Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (DAOE) is also part of the overall policing model, strengthening the ability of the Police to deal with serious and organized crime with modern methods of analysis, better coordination and targeted operational action.

From next week, presentations of the Program to the members of the Police will begin, with the aim of fully informing them about the vision, priorities, projects and changes that are being promoted.

The active participation of the members of the Police is a decisive factor for the success of this effort. Investing in people, their knowledge and capabilities is a basic prerequisite for the new structures, modern tools and new ways of working to have a substantial impact on the daily operation of the Police.

"Police 2030" is now being put into practice. With a plan, specific projects and the participation of its people, the Cyprus Police is consistently proceeding with its modernization, with a clear orientation: a modern, efficient and reliable Police, closer to the citizen and the needs of society.
