PAPHOS MUNICIPALITY - TO BE REPLACED BY TWO SERVICES

The Paphos Municipality, which will be abolished on October 19, 2026, will be replaced by two services of the Municipality of Paphos and Apokta Nea Zoi
The historic 'Governors House' building will officially operate from October 19, 2026, as the Cultural Service and the Office of Civil Marriage of the Municipality of Paphos, marking a new era in its long-standing history.
Originally as the residence of the British administrator and later of the Paphos Governor, it was later used as a venue for hosting important scientific and cultural events, among others, by the Cyprus Institute and the European Capital of Culture Organization "Paphos 2017", the iconic building with its characteristic features of British colonial architecture, was connected over time with the evolution of the city.
Today, the installation of the two municipal services marks the continuation of this path, highlighting the ability of historical heritage to remain an active part of modern life.
The Paphos Governor's House continues to tell the story of Paphos, hosting new services and human moments in a space where the past meets the present and shapes the vision of the future.
