The total repayment of state aid by KEDIPES exceeded €2 billion, following the new payment of €60 million. in cash for the third quarter of 2026. At the same time, 978 houses have been included in the "Rent Per Instalment" Plan, while the final number is expected to exceed 2,000.
According to KEDIPES, since the start of its operations in 2018, the total repayment of state aid received by the former Cyprus Cooperative Bank amounted to €2.002 billion.
The amount is broken down as follows:
€1.820 billion in cash repayments.
€48 million from the transfer of 247 properties to the Republic of Cyprus.
€121 million in costs for the implementation of the "Rent Against Instalment" Plan, for the inclusion of 978 homes.
€13 million in other repayments, such as instalments of the "Estia" Plan.
In addition to the repayment of state aid, KEDIPES has repaid liabilities of €355 million of the former Cyprus Cooperative Bank. These concern the 2018 Voluntary Redundancy Scheme, the Business Transfer Agreement and the Loan Guarantee Scheme with the former Hellenic Bank, as well as other smaller obligations.
In addition, it has paid €158 million. to state services as taxation.
The company maintains a cash reserve of €50 million. for the financing of "Rent Against Instalment" and another €30 million. for the repayment of an obligation to Eurobank Limited. The second concerns the repurchase of a portfolio of non-performing loans that were included in the Loan Guarantee Scheme, which was terminated on January 30, 2026.
The submission of applications for the "Rent By Instalment" Scheme was completed on September 30, 2026, with their total number exceeding 4,500.
KEDIPES, as the implementing body, continues to process the applications. So far, 1,307 homes have been approved, of which 978 have already been included in the Plan. According to the company's estimate, the houses that will eventually be included are expected to exceed 2,000.
