Annual inflation in Cyprus remained at 5.2% in September 2026, according to Eurostat's preliminary estimate, keeping a distance from the Eurozone's 3.8%. On a monthly basis, however, prices in Cyprus are estimated to have fallen by 0.4%.
The data, published on Friday, showed that annual inflation in Cyprus remained at August levels, after successive increases in previous months.
Based on the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices, the annual rate of price growth was 3% in April, 3.5% in May, 4.1% in June and 4.4% in July, before reaching 5.2% in August. In September 2025, the corresponding rate was zero.
In the Eurozone, annual inflation is estimated to have risen to 3.8%, up from 3.2% in August. Cyprus is therefore 1.4 percentage points higher.
Energy is expected to record the largest annual increase among the main components of inflation in the Eurozone. Energy prices are estimated to have increased by 18.8%, compared to 14.3% in the previous month.
In services, the annual rate of price growth is expected to be 3.2%, up from 3% in August. In food, alcohol and tobacco, it is estimated to have accelerated to 1.4%, from 1.1%.
In contrast, in non-energy industrial goods, annual inflation is estimated to have slowed to 1.1%, compared to 1.2% in August.
