The Turkish Ministry of National Defense announced today (21/9) a training flight of fighters and support aircraft of the Turkish Air Force south of Cyprus and in the international airspace of the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Turkish Ministry of National Defense said in a post that aircraft took off from different air bases and carried out an "extended training flight" south of Cyprus and in the international airspace of the Mediterranean.
The operation involved, as can be seen in the video, armed F-16 fighters, as well as an E-7T Early Warning and Control aircraft, a KC-135R air refuelling aircraft and a T-70 helicopter, according to published information about the composition of the formation.
"Steel wings in the skies of the Mediterranean"
The Turkish Ministry of Defense accompanied the announcement with the phrase "Steel wings in the skies of the Mediterranean" and linked the activity to the "protection of Turkey's rights and interests" in the Mediterranean.
The announcement states that the relevant activities continue with the aim, according to the Turkish side, of protecting these interests, developing operational capabilities and maintaining the readiness of the units at the highest possible level.
