The Deputy Ministry of Tourism announces that for this year nine "Christmas Villages" will operate in all Districts and specifically in Agros, Deryneia, Kakopetria, Kalopanagiotis, Kyperounta, Lefkara, Lofou, Statos-Agios Fotios and Fikardou. The organization of the Christmas Villages for the upcoming festive season will take place from November 21, 2026 to January 6, 2027.
The selection was made after the completion of the evaluation process of the applications submitted under the Grant Scheme for Community and Municipal Councils falling under the "Heartland of Legends" route. The Plan is a continuation of the initiative of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism to organize "Christmas Villages" in Municipalities and Communities, events that have been characterized by success and positive impressions in the last five years.
The selected destinations will be festively decorated and will include wooden houses with local products and handicrafts for sale, experiential craft and wine gastronomy workshops, activities in nature such as walking on nature trails and cycling, guided tours of the villages and other surprises. The ultimate goal of the Deputy Ministry is the "Christmas Villages", with their local character, to be enriched every year, to be a pole of attraction for local and foreign visitors.
