One of the biggest religious holidays in the province of Paphos and all over Cyprus, the feast of Agios Neophytos and the great festival that takes place in the areas around it, starts tonight and will last three days.
The religious part of the feast will begin tomorrow, Sunday, with the Great Solemn Archieratical Vespers at 5.30pm, officiated by the Archbishop of Cyprus George. After the liturgy, the procession of the holy relics of the Saint will take place.
On Monday, September 28, on the day of the feast of the discovery and transfer of the relics of Saint Neophytos, Matins will be celebrated and then the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy presided over by the Archbishop of Cyprus and co-officiated by the Abbot of the Monastery of Saint Neophytos, Bishop Leontios of Chytra and the fathers of the Monastery. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the procession of the holy relics of Saint Neophytos will take place again.
As of today, in the wider area of the monastery, the stalls and other facilities of the street vendors have been set up for the festival that is held every year during this three-day event and attracts thousands of believers and other visitors from all over Cyprus.
The Paphos Traffic Police has already taken measures for the safe movement of visitors and residents in the area of the Monastery, but also for the parking of the thousands of vehicles that will be transported in the area from tonight until Monday.
