The area of Alhambra has been selected by the government and the Ministry of Education, for the construction of the new Technical School, which is designed to meet the needs of southern Nicosia.
Of course, nearby communities that fall within the province of Larnaca are also expected to be served, despite the fact that they will soon also have at their disposal the Technical and Vocational School of Education and Training (TESEK) that will operate in Aradippou.
Regarding the area of the Alhambra, the information states that the announcement was officially made and a number of meetings and meetings have already been held between the competent bodies and the communities involved.
In recent years, the demand for the creation and operation of a new Technical School in the area of southern Nicosia has become more and more intense. This is because, the data show that in addition to the great interest in studying in Secondary Technical Education, the areas of southern Nicosia are growing and developing, resulting in this need as well.
Therefore, the aim of this decision is to serve students and families, who live in areas such as Alhambra, Dali, Nisou but also Kornos, Mosfiloti, etc.
As for where the processes are now, it should be mentioned that they are in the early stages. Now, procedures are being carried out for the area where the new School will be erected.
Besides, it is recalled that now two more TESEKs are already under construction and are expected to soon receive their students, in modern buildings and laboratories and in equipped infrastructure. These are the new Technical School in Limassol, which will replace the A ́ Technical School of Limassol, and will operate in one year (September 2027) with a capacity of 700-800 students, as well as the new Technical School in Aradippou, which will replace the Technical School of Agios Lazaros and will open its gates in September 2028.
