For the Open Call for Expression of Interest for the participation of adults with disabilities (PWD) in special vocational education and training programs, the Post-Secondary Institutes of Vocational Education and Training (MIEEK) remind, noting that applications are accepted until September 21.
According to today's announcement by the Ministry of Education, the aim of the special programs is to create an accessible, supportive and inclusive learning environment, through which people with disabilities will have the opportunity to develop and enhance knowledge, skills and abilities, according to their special characteristics and needs.
Each case will be examined individually, with the aim of properly planning the educational path of each interested party.
The assessment will take into account, among other things: the individual's personal and professional interests, their educational and support needs, their previous knowledge and skills, their existing abilities and capabilities, their expectations and objectives from participation in a program, as well as any other factors deemed relevant for their appropriate and meaningful participation in education.
This process aims to best match the needs, interests and level of each individual with the appropriate educational content and the required support arrangements.
Adults with disabilities who are interested in participating in the special MIEEK programs are invited to submit an application for expression of interest.
After the submission of the application, the prescribed evaluation process of each case will follow, in order to record and take into account the interests, needs, previous knowledge and skills and educational goals of each interested party.
According to the announcement, submitting an application of interest does not automatically entail enrolling or securing a place in a specific program.
Participation and the appropriate educational choice will be determined after the completion of the individualized assessment and according to the possibilities and available places of the programs.
The call is addressed to adults with disabilities who wish to participate in special MIEEK programs and to acquire or enhance knowledge and skills in an appropriately adapted and supportive learning environment.
Interested parties are invited to submit the application for expression of interest via e-mail mieek@mieek.ac.cy until 21/9/2026.
For more information and clarifications, those interested can contact the MIEEK at 22800653 or by e-mail at kkyriakou@schools.ac.cy
Finally, according to the announcement of the Ministry, the MIEEK encourage all interested adults with disabilities to express their interest, so that their possibilities of participating in a program that meets their interests, needs, knowledge, skills and personal goals can be individually explored.
