The involvement with this institution has stagnated somewhere in recent years. However, the ever-increasing incidents of burglaries and thefts in many areas of Paphos, as well as other anti-social incidents that cause concern to citizens, bring the institution of the Neighbourhood Watch back to the fore today with new dynamics.
The institution, which has been established for years in many areas of the province, is functionally redefined today since it seems that the outbreak of anti-social or even criminal activity in many areas of the Paphos province and in urban areas, has alarmed the authorities and the public for good. Something that is characteristically reflected by the broad meeting the day before yesterday at the Paphos Municipal Hall with the participation of all the Municipalities of the province to deal with the vandalism and anti-social acts that plague Paphos.
In this climate, many believe that engaging on a more systematic basis with the institution of the Neighbourhood Watch can prove to be particularly beneficial for public safety and the protection of citizens' properties.
