BAD WEATHER ON THE WAY - RAIN, ISOLATED STORMS, HAIL POSSIBLE MAINLY IN THE MOUNTAINS AND INLAND - Filenews 5/9

Rains and isolated thunderstorms, with the possibility of hail, are expected on Saturday mainly in the mountains and inland, as the unstable air mass affecting Cyprus will remain over the island before receding from Sunday.

At the same time, the temperature will reach 35 degrees inland.

The forecast in detail

Seasonal low pressure prevails in the area, while the unstable air mass affecting the island has been receding since Sunday.

Today, after the dissolution of the morning low clouds and sparse fog or fog, the weather in most areas of the island will become mostly clear with temporarily increased clouds. At noon and after, however, clouds that will develop in the mountains and inland are expected to give isolated rains and isolated thunderstorms. Hail is likely to fall in a storm. Winds in the morning will be variable, light, 3 Beaufort, to gradually become southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and temporarily on the windward coast to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will initially be calm to a little rough, however in the afternoon in the windward it will be temporarily a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 35 degrees inland, around 30 on the west and southwest coasts, around 32 on the rest of the coasts and around 25 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear, however at times there will be locally increased low clouds, mainly in the coastal areas. Later and during the morning hours, thin fog or fog is expected to form in places, especially in areas in the east and inland. The winds will gradually become downbeat, weak, 3 Beaufort and the sea will remain calm to a little rough.

On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, the weather will generally be mostly clear, while locally increased clouds will be observed at times.

The temperature until Monday will gradually rise and return to levels above normal for the season. On Tuesday, a slight drop in temperature is expected.
