The Municipality of Paphos informs the owners and managers of shops and other businesses operating in the city's Shopping Centre that the organization of musical events, concerts, performances, parties or other organized events, as well as the use of public and public spaces for this purpose, is allowed only after obtaining all the required permits and approvals from the competent Authorities.
In particular, it is not allowed to occupy sidewalks, squares, sidewalks or other public or common space for the installation of stages, sound systems, lighting, table seats or other equipment and for the conduct of concerts, musical events or performances without the prior permission of the Municipality of Paphos and, where required, the relevant approvals of the Fire Service, the competent Electromechanical Service, as well as any other competent authority.
It is clarified that any permission to grant public space for table seats does not give the right to different or additional use of the space for concerts, parties, performances or other organized events without prior approval.
At the same time, it is forbidden to broadcast music without the required license, as well as to broadcast music in violation of the terms of licenses that have already been issued, including the prescribed operating hours, the allowed volume limits and any other restrictions or conditions set by the competent Authorities.
In cases of events for which a ticket is required, the organizers are obliged to inform the Municipality in advance, to follow the prescribed procedures and to pay the prescribed tax/public spectacle fee. It is not allowed to organize an event with entrance for a fee without fulfilling the relevant obligations to the Municipality.
The Municipality of Paphos makes it clear that the competent Services will carry out systematic inspections. In case of non-compliance, all measures provided by law will be taken to remove the illegality, including, where the legal conditions are met, the revocation or non-renewal of licenses granted for the operation of premises, the use of public space and/or other related activities.
The Municipality calls on all entrepreneurs to check in time the licenses and approvals they have and, before organizing any music or other event, to contact the competent Services to secure the required approvals.
The goal of the Municipality of Paphos is to maintain a vibrant and attractive Shopping Centre, with equal rules for all, in conditions of legality, safety and respect for residents, visitors, professionals and public space.
