YOU NO LONGER NEED TO CARRY THE CHILD'S IDENTITY - THE NEW FEATURE IN THE ''DIGITAL CITIZEN'' AND THE BASIC REQUIREMENT - Filenews 21/8

From today, parents can also have the identity of their minor children on their mobile phones, through the "Digital Citizen" application.

With the new service, both mother and father can add a digital copy of their child's ID to their app so that it is readily available when identity verification or other legal use is required.

In order to take advantage of the new possibility, a necessary condition is that the corresponding physical identity of the child has already been issued and is valid.

The new feature does not affect the ability of young people aged 14 and over to maintain their digital identity in the "Digital Citizen" application on their own mobile phone.

The Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy reminds that the digital copies of official documents created through the "Digital Citizen" application are fully equivalent to the corresponding physical documents. Therefore, during the identity verification process, the citizen can show the digital document through the application, instead of the corresponding physical document, and this is accepted without exceptions.

Citizens are invited to contact the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation & Digital Policy and report cases where the demonstration of the digital form of documents through the application was not accepted.

It is clarified, at the same time, that the digital documents created through the "Digital Citizen" application are not international travel documents and cannot be used for travel purposes abroad.

"Digital Citizen" is available for iOS and Android devices through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

The new feature further enhances the digitization of state services, facilitating the daily lives of citizens and providing parents with direct and secure access to the digital documents of their minor children. -=
