YELLOW WEATHER WARNING TODAY - 1pm-3pm - Filenews 7/8
The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for extreme maximum temperature for Friday, August 7.
The warning will take effect at 13:00 and will last until 15:00.
According to the forecast, the maximum temperature is expected to rise to around 40 degrees Celsius in areas of the interior.

Today, after the dissolution of the thin fog and low clouds, the weather will become generally mostly clear. Winds will initially be mainly southeast to southwest light, 3 Beaufort, to gradually become southwest to northwest light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally be a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 40 degrees inland, around 34 on the south, east and north coasts and around 31 degrees on the west coast as well as in the higher mountains.
Tonight the weather will be mostly clear, however locally there will be increased low clouds, as well as thin fog or fog. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest light and transient locally to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough.
On Friday and over the weekend the weather will generally be mostly clear, although at times there will be increased local clouds, which on Friday are likely to give isolated rains in the mountains.
The temperature until Saturday is not expected to change appreciably, to continue to fluctuate slightly above the average climatic values.
