THE DIARY OF A MADMAN by Nikolai Gogol [ in Greek]
Pafos Public Gardens, behind Municipal Hall
13 September - 7.30pm
Free entry
Nikolai Gogol’s iconic work returns, almost two decades after its first performance, in a mature, lively and constantly evolving theatrical version.
In this new version, Marios Ioannou collaborates on stage with Stefani Neophytou, who, through vocal improvisations and her musical talent, creates a vibrant soundscape and gives the performance a special, contemporary character.
A story about loneliness, the need for recognition, social marginalization and the fragile relationship between man and reality, given through the Cypriot dialect and a modern stage perspective.
The performance is dedicated to the memory of our late fellow citizen Giorgos Christodoulides, who signed the music of the original production and was a beloved artist of Pafos, with a significant presence in the cultural events of the city.
