THE 40s CONTINUE - YELLOW WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1pm to 4pm TODAY - Pafos Press 8/8
The Meteorology Department issued a yellow warning for today, Saturday.
According to the warning, the maximum temperature in the interior is expected to reach 40 degrees.
The warning will be in effect from 13:00 until 16:00 in the afternoon.

Seasonal low pressure affects the area.
Today, the weather will be mainly clear, however, initially there will be locally increased low clouds and sparse fog or mist in the interior, in the south and in the east. Gradually, clouds that will develop in the afternoon may give isolated rain in the mountains. Winds will blow mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually becoming moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough and in the afternoon locally to rough. The temperature will rise to 40 degrees inland, around 33 on the west and north coasts, around 36 on the rest of the coasts and 30 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will be mainly clear, but in the west increased low clouds will be observed at intervals. During the dawn hours, it is not excluded that sparse fog or mist may form, mainly in the southeast and inland. The winds will gradually become descending, light, 3 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough. The temperature will drop to around 24 degrees inland and on the coast and to 20 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, the weather will be mainly clear, however in the afternoon there will be temporary increased cloudiness, mainly in the mountains.
The temperature until Tuesday will not change significantly and will remain slightly above the average climatological values.
