RED ALERT IN PAPHOS FOR FIRES - PATROLS ARE INTENSIVYING AFTER THE SUCCESSIVE INCIDENTS - Filenews 17/8 by Dora Christodoulou

The many fires recorded in the last week in the province of Paphos mobilize even more Fire Brigade and Police, which are working on additional plans to avoid the worst of this year's summer season in the province, given that the heat waves continue unstoppably.

After the repeated fires in areas of the Paphos countryside with a history of arson last weekend, mainly, the officials of the Fire Service and the Police are in coordination, with the aim of even more effective policing throughout the province during these difficult days of very high temperatures.
In this context, the aerial patrols of the aircraft based at Paphos airport, but also in Larnaca and Akrotiri, have been densified and organized with an even more systematic program, acting as reinforcements of the ground firefighting forces of the Department of Forests and the Fire Brigade, which comb the province from end to end these days.

The situation as it has been developing since mid-July worries the authorities, since although the many fires recorded to date were dealt with immediately and with the least possible losses, it is nevertheless found that the criminal activity of some imposes superhuman efforts to achieve the goal for a summer with as little loss as possible in property and the environment.
