PAPHOS MARINA - WHEN DO THE SIGNATURES FALL - HOW DO THE AUTHORITIES COMMENT? - Filenews 13/8 by Dora Christodoulou

In January 2027, the signatures for the Paphos Marina in Potima, Kissonerga, are expected. This is what government sources tell "F", asked to comment on the new concerns expressed once again in the province, regarding the delays observed in the promotion of the major infrastructure project.

According to these sources, the preparatory work, as it was last delineated after the legal obstacles were cleared, concerned from the beginning the signing for the major project of the Paphos Marina in January 2027. Therefore, they stressed, there is no question of new obstacles or other issues, but the preparations are progressing within the timelines set, with the aim of January 2027 for everything to be ready for the signatures.
The marina, which will be the largest in Cyprus with a capacity of one thousand boats and significant land infrastructure, is a constant request of all Paphos agencies since it is estimated as the number one project which will further enrich the already rich tourist area of the Municipality of Akamas and the province of Paphos in general and will give additional value to the offered tourist product by raising Cyprus higher as a tourist destination.

Competent officials also claimed, speaking yesterday to "F", that lately the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the Municipality of Akamas have developed intense cooperation, which they described as very important since the Deputy Ministry is also responsible for the implementation of the Paphos marina.
