MAJOR ROAD WORKS
Famagusta-Larnaca-Larnaca Airport Motorway
On the Larnaca Airport-Paralimni motorway, as well as the Larnaca-Kofinos and Larnaca-Nicosia motorways, during the period 27/07/2026-30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, irrigation works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorways in both directions by the Department of Forestry. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected.
On the Larnaca Airport – Paralimni motorway, from 27/07/2026 to 30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, watering works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorway in both directions. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected.
On the Larnaca-Paralimni motorway, from Monday 24/08/2026 to Friday 28/08/2026, between the hours of 09:00 – 15:00, checks will be carried out on the installation of emergency doors on the central island. During the works, a section of the right lane adjacent to the central island lane will be closed, sequentially for a length of 100 meters each time, simultaneously in both directions.
Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway
On the Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway, as well as the Larnaca-Famagusta and Larnaca-Nicosia Motorways, during the period 27/07/2026-30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, watering works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorways in both directions by the Department of Forestry. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters each time. Traffic will not be affected.

On the old Larnaca - Kofinou road, during the period from Tuesday 4/8/2026 to Friday 28/8/2026, daily except weekends and summer holidays (17-21/8/2026), pipeline construction works will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the above period, a section of the road between the villages of Angleisidon and Kofinou will be closed for a length of approximately 100 meters, at three simultaneous points, and traffic will be diverted to an adjacent lane using traffic lights.
On the Larnaca-Kofinou motorway, from Monday 24/08/2026 until Friday 28/08/2026, between the hours of 09:00 – 15:00, checks will be made on the installation of emergency doors on the central island. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected.
On the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway, in the section from the Rizoelia roundabout to the exit to Nisou and vice versa, from Monday 31/08/2026 until Thursday 10/09/2026, daily, except weekends and Fridays, between the hours of 09:00-14:30, watering works will be carried out on the central island by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right lane adjacent to the central island of the motorway will be closed from one direction for a length of 1.5 km. at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway, from Monday 24/08/2026 until Thursday 10/09/2026, except Fridays and Saturdays from 08:30am until 14:00pm, pruning and cleaning works will be carried out on the central island of the motorway. During the works, the right lane adjacent to the traffic of the central island, for a length of approximately 2,000m each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lanes.
On the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway, from Monday 24/08/2026 until Friday 28/08/2026, between the hours of 09:00 – 15:00, checks will be made on the installation of emergency doors on the central island. During the works, a section of the right lane adjacent to the central island lane will be closed, sequentially for a length of 100m each time, simultaneously from both directions.
Limassol-Nicosia Motorway
On the Nicosia - Limassol Motorway, from the GSP roundabout to the junction with the Nicosia - Larnaca Motorway (A2) in both directions from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 30/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00, the Department of Forestry will periodically carry out watering works for plants on the slopes and embankments.
Nicosia-Kokkinotrimithia-Akaki Motorway
On the Nicosia-Denia Motorway, from the Archangelos interchange to the Kokkinotrimithia roundabout in both directions, from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 30/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, the Forestry Department will periodically carry out watering works for plants on the slopes and slopes.
Nicosia District
In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, and are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.
On the interurban road Astromeritis-Karvounas-Troodos, beyond the Community of Evrychou, from Monday 24/08/2026 until Friday 18/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 – 17:00, excavation works will be carried out to install a water supply pipeline. During the works, one lane of traffic in the direction of Troodos will be closed for a section of approximately 100 meters and traffic will be diverted to the other lane, with the use of temporary traffic lights.
On the Tempria-Galata-Kakopetria road on Friday 28/08/2026 and Monday 31/08/2026, from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, periodic maintenance work will be carried out on sections of the roadway. During the works, a section of the road from the junction with Giannou Kranidioti Street to the junction with Agatheris Street will be closed, with a total length of approximately 500 meters in both directions, and traffic will be diverted via Giannou Kranidioti Street and Agatheris Street.
Limassol District
On the Limassol – Troodos road near the Tall Tree, from Monday 24/08/2026 to Wednesday 23/12/2026, a private company will be carrying out works on the construction of a retaining wall with an integrated lifting grid for existing walls. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed for a length of approximately 100 m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights.
Larnaca District
In Larnaca, on Nikou Pattihis Avenue, from Monday 24/08/2026 to Friday 28/08/2026, construction works of sidewalks and pedestrian crossings will be carried out, within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Lanes”. During the works, the left lane of traffic in the direction from the City Center to the Kamares Roundabout will remain closed, on a section of Nikou Pattihis Avenue, from the height of Acharnon Street, for a length of approximately 50 meters. Vehicle traffic will be carried out through the right lane with the help of appropriate temporary road markings.
