HEADACHE FOR A NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL IN THE OCCUPIED TERRITORIES - AFTER THE SINKING OF THE NEXUS, COMES ZAMNA - THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS IS INFORMED- Filenews 21/8

Another major international electronic music event is planned in the occupied territories, just a few days after the withdrawal of the Serbian EXIT from the NEXUS festival in occupied Kyrenia, following the reactions and interventions caused in the Republic of Cyprus.

This is the Zamna Festival, an international electronic music brand based in Tulum, Mexico, which has announced an event for October 10, 2026, promoting it on its official website as "North Cyprus". In the description of the event, the location refers to Nicosia, which is occupied within the walls. On the same website, pre-sale of tickets has already begun, with prices starting at 1,650 Turkish lira, while the full program and the names of the artists have not yet been announced. In fact, the organizers have created a video, in which they promote the occupied territories of the Republic, in order to promote the festival.

According to information brought to the attention of Filenews, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also been informed about the new event, requesting that the appropriate actions be taken.

Second event of Zamna in the occupied territories

This is not the first time that Zamna has organized festivals in the occupied territories. In May 2025, it held its first event in the Palm Beach area of occupied Famagusta, with the participation of international names in electronic music. This year's announcement itself speaks of a return after last year's debut of the event.

Zamna has a significant international presence. The festival started in Tulum in 2017 and by 2024 had expanded to about 20 countries, gathering that year a total of about 850,000 visitors from 135 nationalities.

In fact, last May Zamna held a two-day event in Limassol as well.
