FIRE IN PISSOURI BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL - Filenews 16/8
The fire that broke out south of the Limassol - Paphos highway, near the Pissouri exit, was brought under control.
The aerial means completed their drops and were released from the firefighting operation. The volunteer groups also left the scene, as well as the teams of the Department of Forests, the District Administration, the Civil Defense, the Community of Pissouri and the British Bases.
Fire trucks of the Fire Service and the Game Service will remain in the area, in order to be on alert and to proceed with the final extinguishing of any outbreaks that remain active.
The fire burned an area of about four hectares, consisting of dry grass, wild vegetation and trees, while piles of garbage and waste materials were also burned.
