EUROPEAN CONGRESS OF HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY IN PAPHOS - Pafos Live 8/8
The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) is hosting this year one of the most important scientific events in the field of health psychology worldwide: the 40th Annual Conference of the European Society of Health Psychology.
The conference will be held from 1 to 4 September 2026 at the Coral Beach Hotel & Resort in Paphos, with the theme: "Digital Innovations in Healthcare: Harnessing the Power of Technology and Artificial Intelligence".
This is a historic moment for both CUT and Cyprus as a whole, as our country welcomes for the first time this emblematic conference, which this year completes 40 years of continuous presence on the international scientific scene.
EHPS is the leading scientific society in the field of health psychology in Europe, with members from dozens of countries and strong links with institutions, political bodies and health organizations across the continent. Its annual conference is a meeting point for hundreds of researchers, clinical professionals, policymakers and students, who exchange knowledge and shape the scientific agenda in the fields of health, prevention, behaviour change and mental well-being.
This year's conference focuses on one of the most topical areas, the role of digital technology and Artificial Intelligence in health and care delivery. In an era in which AI is radically transforming disciplines such as diagnosis, treatment, patient-professional communication, and public health, EHPS 2026 aspires to lay the scientific and ethical foundations for a technological transition that is human-centric, evidence-based, and effective.
Of particular importance is the fact that among the Keynote Speakers of the conference is Dr. Nicos Middleton, a member of the academic staff of CUT, which highlights the high scientific level of the institution in the field of health psychology. His presence as a speaker at this international podium is a recognition of the research carried out in Cyprus and confirms the leading role of CUT in shaping the European scientific agenda in this field.
The Local Organizing Committee of the conference is based at CUT and is coordinated by Dr. Angelos Kassianos, Assistant Professor of Health Psychology and Director of the Laboratory of Behavioral Science in Health (BSiH Lab), who also serves as a member of the Scientific Committee of the conference.
"The hosting of the 40th Annual EHPS Conference by CUT is a milestone for our institution and for the research community of Cyprus," said Dr. Kassianos.
