DROP IN TEMPERATURES, SOME AREAS LIKELY TO BE AFFECTED BY RAIN, STORMS AND/OR HAIL - Filenews 16/8
A breath of coolness from the prolonged 40s, the weather has in store for today and next week. In some areas of the island, rain, storms and even hail are expected. Our area, according to the Department of Meteorology, is affected by seasonal low pressure and unstable air mass.
Today there will initially be increased low clouds, which after noon, in the mountains, inland and in areas in the east, are expected to give local rains and isolated thunderstorms. Hail is expected to fall in a storm. The winds will temporarily blow up to strong, 5 Beaufort.
The temperature will rise to around 37 degrees inland, around 32 on the coast and around 28 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight there will be locally increased clouds which gradually in the west are likely to give isolated rains. Later and during the morning hours, it is possible that fog will form locally.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, increased clouds after noon are expected to give local rains and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and the eastern half of the island. Hail is expected to fall in a storm.
The temperature until Wednesday is not expected to change appreciably, remaining slightly below the average climatic values.
