A case of assault, causing actual bodily harm, possession of offensive instruments and malicious damage is being investigated by the Police in Limassol.
According to the data under investigation, around 9 last night, a 23-year-old man seems to have been attacked outside a kiosk in the area of Agios Nikolaos in Limassol, by five people, who beat him and then fled.
The 23-year-old was transported by ambulance to the Limassol General Hospital, while the Police were called to the scene.
Upon the arrival of a patrol car at the scene, about ten people wearing hoods and helmets moved aggressively towards them, while one of them hit the patrol car with a bat, causing damage to the windscreen. They then fled, leaving the scene.
The 23-year-old, who underwent medical examinations, was found to have bruises and abrasions on various parts of his body and after receiving first aid, he was discharged.
The Minor Offences Department and the Limassol Police Department continue the examinations, while it is being investigated whether they are the same persons who previously attacked the 23-year-old.

A case concerning the offences of conspiracy to commit a felony and robbery, which was committed last night in Limassol, is being investigated by the Limassol Police.
Specifically, a 41-year-old man reported to the Police that at around 12:30 a.m., while he was riding an electric scooter in the Molos area of Limassol, he was attacked by four individuals, who were also riding electric scooters. According to the complaint, the perpetrators threw the 41-year-old to the ground and, after stealing his electric scooter, fled.
The 41-year-old was slightly injured in the fall and was taken to Limassol General Hospital, where he was provided with first aid and then discharged.

The presence and action of the Police last night was intense, throughout Cyprus, with organized patrols in key points of urban areas, with the aim of preventing serious criminal acts, ensuring public order and increasing the sense of security of the public.
As a result of the preventive police operations, six persons were arrested for the offenses of illegal possession of drugs, illegal stay in the territory of the Republic, failure to appear in Court, etc.
As part of these operations, during the night, 551 vehicles were stopped for inspection and 736 persons on board were checked. At the same time, 46 inspections were carried out in premises with the aim of dealing with phenomena of delinquency, during which a complaint was made.
During traffic checks carried out, 268 complaints were made, concerning various traffic violations, while six investigated cases of traffic violations also emerged.
Of the complaints made, 92 concerned exceeding the speed limit, while as part of the police examinations, eight vehicles were detained. 173 alcohol tests were also carried out, from which five complaints emerged, as well as a preliminary drug test with a positive result.
Policing operations, for the prevention and suppression of crime, continue daily, with an increased/enhanced police presence, targeted controls and immediate operational action, with the aim of increasing the sense of security of citizens/protecting citizens and ensuring public order.

The TAE Larnaca proceeded in the early hours of the morning to arrest two women from Brazil, aged 25 and 26, who allegedly turned an apartment in Larnaca into a brothel.
The fact that they allegedly turned the place into a brothel was accidentally revealed by the Larnaca Police, who were called to the scene at 2 in the morning, after receiving information about a person shouting outside an apartment.
Members of the Police went to the scene and found a 23-year-old man outside the apartment. When asked about the reason he was there, he reportedly stated that he had sex with a 25-year-old woman, for a fee and that when he left he found that she stole an amount of €6.700 that he had in his possession.
The TAE Larnaca searched the apartment and located the amount of money behind a bedside table. They then proceeded to arrest the 25-year-old and the 26-year-old, who have been in this apartment since last July.
According to information from Filenews, the complainant in the case allegedly stated that he spotted the 25-year-old on a dating website and that he paid her €150.
The two women are suspected of theft, theft, conspiracy to commit a felony and a misdemeanor, as well as a brothel suppression offense. The two were brought before the Larnaca District Court for the issuance of a detention order.

A case of attack against a 34-year-old food distributor from Bangladesh, which was committed in the early hours of this morning in Larnaca, is being investigated by the Larnaca Minor Offenses Department.
Specifically, a 34-year-old man complained to the Police that around 2:30 in the morning, while riding his moped on Dianellou Street in Larnaca, he was attacked by two people on a motorcycle.
According to the complaint, the two perpetrators hit the 34-year-old with a bat, as a result of which he lost control of his moped and crashed into a parked vehicle. He then fell and crawled on the road, while the perpetrators fled.
The 34-year-old was taken to Larnaca General Hospital, where he received first aid and was then discharged.
The Larnaca Minor Offenses Department continues the examinations.

The 45-year-old citizen of the Republic of Cyprus, who was arrested last Saturday at the Agios Dometios roadblock by the occupying authorities, was released at noon on Thursday for a case involving the non-completion of the process of crossing from the occupied territories to the free areas the previous day.
The 45-year-old was brought before a "military court" in occupied Nicosia on Thursday, where she was fined 15.000 Turkish lira, about €273.
According to what was reported before the "court", the woman had passed by car from the roadblock of Agios Dometios to the occupied territories at 6 pm on Friday, August 21.
The "prosecutor" claimed that during her passage she violated a "military no-go zone" and did not complete the prescribed "immigration procedures".
The next day, Saturday, August 22, at about 1 pm, the 45-year-old tried to cross with the same vehicle from the free to the occupied area. Then, according to what was testified, she was informed of the previous "offense" and arrested, while her vehicle was confiscated as evidence.
The "prosecutor" stated that the woman had no previous "criminal record" and that she accepted the charges against her.
Her lawyer noted that the 45-year-old, who is also a UK citizen, expressed remorse and argued that the incident happened negligently and for the first time.
The "military court", taking into account the circumstances of the incident, the personal data of the 45-year-old and her "clean criminal record", decided to impose a fine and release her.
