Warning for thunderstorms today with effect from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. issued by the Department of Meteorology.

Isolated strong storms are expected to affect areas in the mountains and inland. Hail is likely to fall in a storm.

The weather forecast in detail

Seasonal low pressure and unstable weather conditions affect the area.
Today, the weather in most areas of the island will be mostly clear with temporarily increased clouds, however at noon and after, clouds that will develop in the mountains and inland are expected to give isolated rains and thunderstorms. Hail is likely to fall in a storm. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually on the coast moderate to strong and temporarily strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally be a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 36 degrees inland, around 30 on the west coast, around 32 on the rest of the coast and around 24 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight the weather will be mostly clear, however temporarily there will be increased low clouds in places, mainly on the coasts. Later and during the morning hours, thin fog or fog is expected to form locally, especially in areas in the south, east and interior. The winds will gradually become light ,3 Beaufort. The sea will be generally calm to a little rough, however locally in the west it will remain a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 23 degrees inland and on the coasts and around 17 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Thursday and Friday, the weather in most areas of the island will be mostly clear with temporarily increased clouds, however at noon and after, clouds that will develop in the mountains and possibly inland, are expected to give isolated rains, without ruling out the occurrence of an isolated short storm.

On Saturday the weather will be mostly clear with temporarily increased clouds.

The temperature until Friday is not expected to change appreciably, remaining close to normal levels for the season. On Saturday, a slight rise in temperature is expected.
