YELLOW WARNING FOR STRONG STORMS - Noon to 6pm today- Filenews 6/7
A yellow warning for strong storms has been issued by the Department of Meteorology. The warning comes into effect from 12 noon on Monday until 18:00 in the afternoon of the same day.
According to the announcement, isolated strong storms are expected to affect areas in the mountains, in the interior and in the north of the island. The intensity of the rain is possible locally to exceed 35 millimeters per hour.

Seasonal low pressure and unstable weather conditions affect the area.
In the afternoon, locally increased cloudiness will be observed at times, however clouds that will develop are expected to give local rains and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains, inland and north. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and later in the south to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough.
Tonight, increased low clouds will be observed from time to time, while locally thin fog or fog is expected to form. Winds will be mainly northwest to northeast and on the north coast southeast, light 3 Beaufort and the sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to 22 degrees inland, around 23 on the coast and 18 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow, after the dissolution of low clouds and local thin fog or fog, the weather will become mostly clear with temporarily increased low clouds. At noon and after, however, clouds that will develop are expected to give local rains and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and inland. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually on the coast to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will initially be calm to a little rough and later generally a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 36 degrees inland, around 32 on the southeast and east coasts, around 30 on the rest of the coasts and 26 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Friday, locally increased clouds will be observed from time to time, while after noon isolated rains are expected mainly in the mountains
The temperature until Friday is not expected to change appreciably, thus remaining close to the average climatic values of the season.
