With its full development, it will be able to serve up to 260 million passengers per year, with five parallel runways and 400 boarding gates.

According to the design, the passenger experience will be characterized by a smooth flow without delays and queues, with the use of autonomous transportation systems.

New travel experience

According to the Khaleej Times newspaper, terminals and departure halls will be connected to automatic, driverless, small passenger trains.

Luggage will be checked in prior to arrival at the terminal and check-in will be completed en route. Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths describes an airport where the passenger does not stop for passports, security or customs, unless they choose it for shopping, dining or lounge.
