VOLUNTEERS CLEANED PAPHOS OF A HUGE VOLUME OF RUBBISH - Filenews 4/7 by Dora Christodoulou
On the initiative of the City Friends Club and its volunteers, Paphos today presented a more attractive and cleaner appearance. It was the cleaning campaign of areas of the city with a particular burden of garbage of all kinds that unscrupulous people leave in public places.
Today's campaign, in which dozens of club members and other volunteers, mainly foreign residents of Paphos, participated, collected a huge amount of waste that was a shame for the city.
The Mayor of Paphos, Angelos Onisiforou, congratulated the City Friends Club and all the young and old volunteers, who selflessly, consistently and dedicate their personal time to keep the city clean and beautiful.
It is especially worth thanking our foreign fellow citizens, he said, who have chosen to live in Paphos and, instead of remaining mere observers, become protagonists of the effort for a cleaner, more humane and more beautiful city.
Their example inspires, but at the same time concerns all of us, stressed Mr. Onisiforou, making it necessary for the rest of us to follow him in order to prove in practice that the care of the city is the responsibility of all of us.
