In the remaining period of 2026 and 2027, it is estimated that more than €230 million will be disbursed from the state coffers to Paphos to execute a total of 75 large and smaller development or infrastructure projects. This is an all-time record number of projects and funds for the province, competent officials emphasize.
As confirmed on two occasions this year, initially by the President of the Republic himself at the Paphos pan-provincial conference and then by the competent Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeadis, in a meeting with the provincial bodies, at the top of the list for another year is the Paphos-Polis Chrysochous highway, given the Government's position that it will be built with four traffic lanes and with additional access through Mesogi.
High on the agenda, stressed the competent Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, is the improvement of the existing Paphos-Polis road, until the completion of the new motorway, the construction of the Paphos Western Bypass, as well as the unblocking of the new road to the airport by resolving the environmental pending issues that are currently being raised.
In 2026, as President Christodoulidis had previously announced at the pan-provincial and specified at the Paphos meeting by Mr. Vafeadis, significant and many improvements to the road network of Geroskipou, Pegeia and the suburban area of the Municipality of Paphos should also be expected in Paphos, as well as the promotion of major projects such as the Marina and others.
