Revolut Bank UAB has established a Greek branch, after completing the evaluation of its application and securing the required approvals from the Bank of Greece.
The digital bank has announced that Revolut Greece will start offering a Greek IBAN to its customers in the coming months, while it plans to make additional banking products available in the Greek market later.
Vassilis Amaranis will take over as General Manager of Revolut Bank UAB in Greece, who will oversee the company's next phase of growth in the country.
Greek IBAN and new banking products
According to an announcement by Revolut, the Bank of Greece has successfully completed the evaluation of the application for the creation of the branch.
After securing the necessary approvals, Revolut Bank UAB established its Greek branch and intends to offer a Greek IBAN with GR prefix in the coming months.
At a later stage, it is planned to make additional banking products available, as part of the company's effort to expand its services and strengthen its presence in Greece.
The new management team
Vassilis Amaranis will lead a local team, which will be staffed by both professionals returning to Greece after a career abroad and domestic market executives.
His appointment is part of Revolut's strategy to strengthen its presence in Southern Europe.
"This marks the beginning of a new chapter for Revolut in Greece," said Mr. Ameranis.
"The approval to create our local branch is an important milestone that will allow us to build a truly local bank while delivering the innovation, speed and customer experience that millions of people already expect from Revolut," he added.
As he mentioned, the goal is for Revolut to become the main bank for its customers, providing the services they need to manage their financial lives in one place.
