The findings in the fatal car which became the grave of the two brothers from Bulgaria, 8 and 10 years old, are shocking. The car was examined yesterday by experts from the car dealership, who rushed from Nicosia.
According to information from Filenews, a fault was found in one door (in the back) which remained unlocked, despite the fact that the car was locked. From there, the two deceased brothers managed to enter, who, however, were locked in the car and trapped in it, since the child lock was also activated.
It is noted that the prevailing scenario as to the causes of death of the two children remains suffocation, since they were locked in the fatal vehicle for over three hours. However, this remains open, at this stage, pending histopathological examinations on samples taken from the bodies of the two brothers, during the autopsies, carried out by the medical examiner, Manolis Sakelliadis, who rushed from Greece.
It is recalled that the two boys can be seen from a closed-circuit camera, activated through traffic, playing in the field and then entering the car and continuing their game. Then the image freezes.
The 30-year-old father of the children have been arrested for the case, as well as his 38-year-old partner, who also owns the fatal vehicle. The British Bases will decide within the day whether they will both be brought before a Dhekelia court or whether only the father, who is suspected of negligence, will appear, since the children were left unattended at home. The children were found unconscious in the vehicle by the 38-year-old on Sunday afternoon, when she returned home.
