A significant rise in temperature is expected from Tuesday, with the mercury exceeding 40 degrees Celsius and remaining at these levels until Thursday, said the Officer of the Department of Meteorology Jason Christodoulou.

"In the coming days the weather will be mostly clear and the temperature is expected to rise, mainly from Tuesday," said Mr. Christodoulou.

As he said, on Monday the temperature inside will fluctuate around 38 degrees Celsius, while from Tuesday the mercury will exceed 40 degrees.

"We will remain at temperatures above 40 degrees until Thursday," he said, estimating that the temperature may reach 41 to 42 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.

Mr. Christodoulou noted that the average climatic values for the interior are around 38 degrees.

"Tomorrow we will be close to the average climatic values, while from Tuesday to Thursday the temperatures will definitely be above them," he concluded.

According to the data of the Department of Meteorology, the rainfall of July to date amounts to 5.6 millimeters (mm), an amount that corresponds to 215% of the normal rainfall of the month which amounts to 2.6 mm, based on the average of the period 1961-1990.

The total rainfall from 1 October 2025 to date amounts to 578,3 millimetres (mm), which corresponds to 117% of the normal rainfall for the same period, which, based on the average of the period 1961-1990, is estimated at 495,6 mm.
