The political decision for the creation of a new high school in the center of Paphos that will replace the demolished Nikolaidio High School has been made. This was made official today by the Minister of Education, Athena Michaelidou, who represented the President of the Republic at the memorial service of the fallen during the Turkish invasion that took place at the metropolitan church of Agios Theodoros in Paphos.
The competent minister stressed that the significant increase in the number of students in secondary education makes it necessary to create the new high school, since the co-location of Nikolaidio in the last 10 years with the Kykkos Paphos High School is not operational.
The procedures for the construction of the new school in the center of the city are progressing, stressed Mrs. Michailidou, while at the same time she said the expansion of the facilities at the high school and TESEK of Agios Charalambos Embas is also progressing, for the better coverage of the entire western low Paphos area up to the Municipality of Akamas.
The Minister of Education stated, finally, that the ministry's plan provides for improvements and extensions to other schools in the city and province of Paphos, the cost of which amounts to many millions of euros.
