MAJOR ROAD WORKS
Famagusta-Larnaca-Larnaca Airport Motorway
Cleaning works will be carried out on the motorway, in the section between Ayia Napa/Paralimni and Xylotymbos in both directions, from Monday 15/06/2026 to Friday 31/07/2026, from 07:00 to 16:00. Drivers are asked to be particularly careful and comply with the temporary road markings that will be placed.
On the Larnaca-Famagusta motorway, in the direction of Famagusta district, from the exit to the Xylotymbos community to the roundabout at the end of the motorway, from Monday 22 June 2026 until Friday 31 July 2026, between the hours of 07:00 and 16:00, pruning and cleaning works will be carried out on the central island of the motorway. During this time, the right lane in the direction from Larnaca to Paralimni will be closed in sections for a length of up to 3 kilometres.
On the Larnaca - Famagusta motorway, in the direction of Famagusta district, on Monday 20 July 2026, from 8.30 am to 12 noon, local road repairs will be carried out from the Rizoelia roundabout to the first exit towards Athienou. During the works, one lane will be closed for a distance of 300 meters and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Larnaca - Kofinou motorway
On sections of the Larnaca - Kofinou motorway, from Monday 13 July 2026 to Thursday 16 July 2026, between the hours of 09:00 am - 15:00 pm, emergency doors will be installed on the central island. During the works, a section of the motorway's central island lane, from the Kalo Chorio roundabout to Kofinou, will be closed, successively for a length of 100 meters each time, simultaneously from both directions, at five different points.
Limassol-Nicosia Motorway
On the Nicosia - Limassol motorway, between the Pera Chorio Kotsiatis Island exit and the junction with the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway, in the direction from Nicosia to Limassol, from Monday 20/07/2026 and Tuesday 21/07/2026, from 21:00 until 05:30 the next day, work will be carried out to replace contraction/expansion joints on the Gialia bridge. During the works, the middle and fast lanes will be closed for approximately 800 meters and traffic will be conducted only through the left lane.
On the Nicosia - Limassol motorway, on the section from Skarinou to Germasogeia, on Tuesday 21/07/2026 from 20:00 until 05:30 the following day, waste collection works will be carried out from the central island of the motorway. During the works, the fast lane in the direction of Limassol will be closed in sections and traffic will be diverted to the slow lane.
On the Nicosia – Limassol motorway, between the Pera Chorio exit of Kotsiatis Island and the junction with the Nicosia – Larnaca motorway, heading from Nicosia to Limassol, on Wednesday 22/07/2026 and Thursday 23/07/2026, from 21:00 until 05:30 the following day, work will be carried out to replace expansion/contraction joints on the Gialia bridge. During the works, the left lane will be closed for approximately 800 meters and traffic will be diverted through the middle and express lanes.
On the Nicosia - Limassol motorway, from the GSP roundabout to the junction with the Nicosia - Larnaca Motorway (A2) in both directions from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 30/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00, the Department of Forestry will periodically carry out watering works for plants on the slopes and beds.
On the motorway, on the Alikou Bridge (beside the Nicosia Perimeter Motorway) on the Nicosia – Limassol Motorway, heading from Nicosia to Limassol, on Wednesday 15/07/2026 and Thursday 16/07/2026, from 21:00 in the evening until 05:30 in the morning of the next day, works will be carried out on the bridge. During the works, the left lane will be closed for a length of approximately 800 meters and traffic will be carried out through the middle and right lanes.
Limassol-Paphos Motorway
On sections of the Limassol-Paphos motorway, from the new Limassol Hospital interchange to the Petra tou Romiou exit in both directions, on Tuesday 21/07/2026 until Thursday 23/07/2026 from 07:00 to 15:00, road sweeping works will be carried out. During the works, the expressway lane of the motorway will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 200 meters in one direction and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Paphos - Limassol motorway, next to the New Limassol Stadium, from Monday 13/07/2026 until Thursday 30/07/2026, daily Monday to Thursday from 21:00 at night until 05:30 in the morning of the next day, vegetation removal and concrete placement works will be carried out on part of the central island of the motorway. During the works, the expressway lane will be closed in sections in both directions for a length of approximately 1500 meters and traffic will be diverted to the slow lane.
Nicosia-Kokkinotrimithia-Akaki Motorway
Between July 2, 2026 and July 21, 2026, pruning and cleaning works will be carried out on the Nicosia – Kokkinotrimithia – Akaki Motorway on the central island of the road in both directions. During the works, the adjacent lane of the motorway will be closed in sections of 2 kilometers each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Nicosia-Troodos motorway in both directions, from Thursday 02/07/2026 until Friday 21/07/2026, except on weekends, from 8:30 to 14:00, pruning and cleaning works will be carried out on the central island of the motorway. During the works, the right lane, adjacent to the central island, will be closed for a length of approximately 2,000m at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lanes.
On the Nicosia - Denia motorway, from the Archangelos interchange to the Kokkinotrimithia roundabout in both directions, from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 30/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00, the Department of Forestry will periodically carry out watering works for the plants on the slopes and slopes.
Nicosia District
In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, and are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.
On the Tembria – Galata – Kakopetria road, in the direction from Tembria to Kakopetria, from Tuesday 14/07/2026 until Thursday 16/07/2026, from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, periodic maintenance works will be carried out on sections of the road surface of the Tembria – Galata – Kakopetria road, with a total length of approximately 1.3 km. During the works, one lane of the road will be closed, in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be directed to the adjacent lane, using stop & go and appropriate signage.
On the Kakopetria – Agios Nikolaos – Pinewood road, heading from Kakopetria to Pinewood, from Friday 17/07/2026 until Friday 31/07/2026, daily except weekends, from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, periodic maintenance work will be carried out on sections of the road surface of the Kakopetria – Agios Nikolaos – Pinewood road, with a total length of approximately 4 km. During the work, one lane of the road will be closed, in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using stop & go and appropriate signage.
On the road to Athienou, from the junction with the Pera Choriou Nisou – Aradipo interurban road to Athienou, periodic maintenance work will be carried out on sections of the road from Tuesday 21/07/2026 until Friday 24/07/2026. During the works, one lane of traffic towards Athienou will be closed in sections, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using stop & go and appropriate signage.
On Archbishop Makarios III Street in Lythrodontas, from Mathiatis to Lythrodontas, periodic maintenance work will be carried out on sections of the road, from Monday 27/07/2026 until Tuesday 28/07/2026. During the works, one lane of traffic towards Lythrodontas will be partially closed, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using stop & go and appropriate signage.
Limassol District
On the Kato Platres–Prodromos road, from Wednesday 24 June 2026 to Friday 31 July 2026, daily except Saturdays and Sundays, between the hours of 07:00–15:00, slope cleaning works will be carried out and installation of a mesh on slopes. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed for a length of approximately 100 m. and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights.
On the Kato Platres - Lemythou road near the village of Lemythou, from Monday 13/07/2026 to Monday 10/08/2026, a private company will be carrying out stone cladding work on a retaining wall. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed for a length of approximately 100 m. and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights.
On the Limassol - Troodos road near the Tall Tree, from Monday 24/08/2026 to Wednesday 23/12/2026, a private company will carry out construction work on a retaining wall with an integrated lifting grid for existing walls. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed for a length of approximately 100 m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights.
Larnaca District
On sections of the Choirokitia-Ora-Ag. Vavatsinias to Ora road, with a total length of 1.5 kilometers, on Friday 17/07/2026, from 07:00 to 15:00, horizontal marking work will be carried out. During the execution of the works, one lane of the Choirokoitia-Ora-Ag. Vavatsinias road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On sections of the bypass road to Odos, with a total length of 1.5 kilometers, on Monday 20/07/2026, from 07:00 to 15:00, horizontal marking works will be carried out. During the execution of the works, one lane of the bypass road to Odos will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On sections of the Farmaka-Odos road, towards Farmaka, with a total length of two kilometers, on Tuesday 21/07/2026 from 07:00 to 15:00, horizontal marking works will be carried out. During the execution of the works, one lane of the Farmaka-Odos road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On sections of the Kato Dry-Vavlas road, with a total length of four kilometers, on Tuesday 21/07/2026 and Thursday 23/07/2026 from 07:00 to 15:00, horizontal marking works will be carried out. During the execution of the works, one lane of the Kato Drys-Vavlas road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On sections of the old Nicosia-Limassol road, within the Kofinou community, with a total length of 1.5 kilometers, on Friday 24/07/2026 from 07:00 to 15:00, horizontal marking works will be carried out. During the execution of the works, one lane of the old Nicosia-Limassol road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On sections of the old Larnaca-Kofinos road, from Klavdia to Alethriko, with a total length of 1.5 kilometers, on Monday 27/07/2026 from 07:00 to 15:00, horizontal marking works will be carried out. During the execution of the works, one lane of the old Larnaca-Kofinos road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the road connecting the old Larnaca-Kofinos road with the Kalo Chorio-Mosfiloti road, with a total length of 1 kilometer, on Tuesday 28/07/2026 from 07:00 to 15:00, horizontal marking works will be carried out. During the execution of the works, one lane of the above connecting road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On Faneromenis Avenue in Larnaca, in the section from the Kamares roundabout to the Agios Charalambos Leprosy Asylum roundabout, from Monday 22 June 2026 to Monday 17 August 2026, construction works will be carried out for photo-controlled pedestrian crossings, sidewalks, green spaces and asphalt pavements, also within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. During the works, temporary traffic regulations will be implemented on Faneromeni Avenue, in a section of approximately 1,000 meters. During the works, the direction from Kamares Roundabout to the city center will remain closed to traffic. Traffic destined for the city center via Faneromeni Avenue will be diverted via Nikou and Despina Pattihi Avenue, Kalymnou Street, Agiou Georgiou Makri Street, Kaisareias Street, 1st April Street, ending at the Roundabout Agios Charalambos. In addition, the right lane in the direction from the city center to the Kamares Roundabout will remain closed, with traffic being conducted via the left lane. For the purposes of serving local access, a temporary lifting of the existing one-way street will be implemented on Verias, Paros, Naxos and Pierias streets, which will temporarily operate as dead ends. Entry will be allowed exclusively to residents and authorized vehicles of the area.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in a section between the villages of Menogia and Kofinou, from Friday 26/06/2026 to Friday 31/07/2026, daily except weekends, between the hours of 08:00 – 17:00, pipeline construction works will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the works, a section of the road will be closed for a length of approximately 100 meters and traffic will be diverted to an adjacent lane using traffic lights.
On Artemis Avenue and at its intersection with Okkoular and Epirou Streets, from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 15/07/2026, construction works will be carried out for photo-controlled pedestrian crossings and sidewalks, within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. During the works on a section of approximately 80 meters, the right lane will remain closed in both directions, while traffic will be diverted to the left lane using appropriate and approved temporary road markings. In addition, in the direction from the city center to the Courts, the right turn to Epirou Street will be made via Nikou Dimitriou Street.
On Artemidos Avenue, from Wednesday 15/07/2026 to Wednesday 22/07/2026, construction works will be carried out for pedestrian crossings and sidewalks, as part of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. During the works on a section of approximately 100 meters, the right lane will remain closed in both directions, while traffic will be diverted to the left lane using appropriate and approved temporary road markings. In addition, right turns from Artemidos Avenue to Nikou Dimitriou Street will not be permitted for vehicles traveling from the city center to the Courts. In addition, access to Nikou Dimitriou Street will be via Epirou Street, using appropriate temporary road markings.
