MAJOR ROAD WORKS
Famagusta-Larnaca-Larnaca Airport Motorway
Cleaning works will be carried out on the motorway, in the section between Ayia Napa/Paralimni and Xylotymbos in both directions, from Monday 15/06/2026 to Friday 31/07/2026, from 07:00 to 16:00. Drivers are asked to be particularly careful and comply with the temporary road markings that will be placed.
On the Larnaca-Famagusta motorway, in the direction of Famagusta district, from the exit to the Xylotymbos community to the roundabout at the end of the motorway, from Monday 22 June 2026 until Friday 31 July 2026, between the hours of 07:00 and 16:00, pruning and cleaning works will be carried out on the central island of the motorway. During this time, the right lane in the direction from Larnaca to Paralimni will be closed in sections for a length of up to 3 kilometres.
On the Larnaca-Famagusta motorway (from the Rizoelia junction to the Xylofagou exit) from Monday 29/06/2026 to Thursday 09/07/2026, between the hours of 09:30-17:00, operational Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (MEA-Drone) flights will be carried out for the purposes of collecting traffic data.
On the Larnaca Airport - Paralimni motorway in the Larnaca District from Monday 06/07/2026 to Thursday 09/07/2026 between the hours of 08:30 - 14:30, irrigation system maintenance work will be carried out by the Department of Forestry. During the execution of the works, the adjacent traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed in both directions for a length of approximately 1.5Km each time from Larnaca Airport to the “Kalo Chorio” roundabout and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway
On sections of the motorway, in both directions towards Larnaca and towards Kofinou, during the period from Tuesday 30 June 2026 to Thursday 09 July 2026, between the hours of 09:00 – 15:00, weekdays except Friday and weekends, emergency door installation work will be carried out on the central island. During the works, a section of the right lane, adjacent to the central island of the motorway, between the "Kalo Chorio" roundabout and Kofinou, will be closed sequentially for a length of 100 meters each time, simultaneously from both directions, at five different points.
Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway
On the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway (from the Lympia exit to the Rizoelia junction), from Monday 29/06/2026 to Thursday 09/07/2026, between the hours of 09:30-17:00, operational Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (MEA-Drone) flights will be carried out, for the purposes of collecting traffic data.
Limassol-Nicosia Motorway
On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, along selected sections (from the Alambras exit to the Kornos exit), from Monday 29/06/2026 to Thursday 09/07/2026, between the hours of 09:30-17:00, operational Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (MEA-Drone) flights will be carried out for the purpose of collecting traffic data.
On the motorway, in the section between the Tseri-Halepiane exit and the Pera Chorio exit of Kotsiatis Island, in the direction from Nicosia to Limassol, on Monday 06/07/2026 and Tuesday 07/07/2026, from 21:00 at night until 05:30 in the morning of the next day, works will be carried out on the Almyros bridge. During the works, the left lane will be closed for approximately 200 meters and traffic will be diverted through the middle and right lanes.
On the Nicosia - Limassol motorway, from the GSP roundabout to the junction with the Nicosia - Larnaca Motorway (A2) in both directions from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 30/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00, the Forestry Department will periodically carry out watering works for plants on the slopes and embankments.
Limassol Bypass
On the bypass road, in the section near the Agia Fyla bridge, in the direction towards Paphos, from Monday 06/07/2026 to Wednesday 08/07/2026, between the hours of 21:00 p.m. and 05:00 a.m. the next morning, works will be carried out to install metal safety barriers. During the works, the left lane in the direction towards Paphos will be closed, for a length of approximately 1000 m. and traffic will be diverted to the right lane.
Nicosia-Kokkinotrimithia-Akaki Motorway
Between July 2, 2026 and July 21, 2026, pruning and cleaning works will be carried out on the Nicosia - Kokkinotrimithia - Akaki motorway on the central island of the road in both directions. During the execution of the works the tangential lane of the motorway will be closed in sections for a length of 2 kilometers at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane.
On the Nicosia-Troodos motorway in both directions, from Thursday 02/07/2026 until Friday 21/07/2026, except on Saturdays and Sundays, from 8:30 to 14:00, pruning and cleaning works will be carried out on the central island of the motorway. During the works, the right traffic lane, tangential to the central island, will be closed for a length of approximately 2,000m. at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lanes.
On the Nicosia - Denia motorway, from the Archangelos interchange to the Kokkinotrimithia roundabout in both directions, from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 30/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00, the Department of Forestry will periodically carry out watering works for the plants on the slopes and slopes.
Nicosia District
In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, and are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.
On the Pedoulas – Kykkos – Kampos road, in the direction from Pedoulas to Kampos, from Friday 26/06/2026 until Monday 06/07/2026 (daily except weekends), from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, periodic maintenance work will be carried out on sections of the roadway. During the work, one lane of the road will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 100m, each time and traffic will be diverted to the other lane using Stop and Go.
On the Pedoulas-Kykkou-Kampou road, in the direction from Pedoulas to Kampou, from Tuesday 07/07/2026 until Monday 13/07/2026, daily except weekends, from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, periodic maintenance work will be carried out on sections of the road between Pedoulas-Gerakion-Kykkou-Kampou, with a total length of approximately 2.5 km. During the work, one lane of the road will be closed, in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using stop & go and appropriate signage.
Limassol District
On the Kato Platres–Prodromos road, from Wednesday 24 June 2026 to Friday 31 July 2026, daily except weekends, between the hours of 07:00–15:00, slope cleaning and slope mesh installation works will be carried out. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed for a length of approximately 100 m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights.
In Polemidia, on Panagias Evangelistrias Street, near the Polemidia roundabout, that on Monday 06/07/2026 and Tuesday 07/07/2026, between the hours of 21:00 p.m. until 05:00 a.m. The following morning, a private company will be carrying out maintenance work on a pedestrian bridge. During the work, one of the three lanes of Panagias Evangelistrias Street will be partially closed and traffic will be diverted to the other two lanes, with appropriate signage.
Larnaca District
On Faneromeni Avenue in Larnaca, in the section from the Kamares Roundabout to the Agios Charalambos Leprosy Home Roundabout, from Monday 22 June 2026 to Monday 17 August 2026, construction works will be carried out for the construction of photo-controlled pedestrian crossings, sidewalks, green spaces and asphalt pavements, also within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. During the works, temporary traffic regulations will be implemented on Faneromeni Avenue, in a section of approximately 1,000 meters. During the works, the direction from the Kamares Roundabout to the city center will remain closed to traffic. Traffic heading to the city center via Faneromeni Avenue will be diverted via Nikos and Despinas Pattihi Avenue, Kalymnou Street, Agios Georgios Makris Street, Kaisareias Street, 1st April Street, ending at the Agios Charalambos Leprosy Roundabout. In addition, the right lane in the direction from the city center to the Kamares Roundabout will remain closed, with traffic being conducted via the left lane. For the purposes of serving local access, a temporary removal of the existing one-way street will be implemented on Verias, Paros, Naxos and Pierias streets, which will temporarily operate as dead ends. Entry will be allowed exclusively to residents and authorized vehicles of the area.
Also in Larnaca, on Artemis Avenue and at its intersection with Okkoular Street, from Saturday 27/06/2026 until Tuesday 07/07/2026, construction work will be carried out on photo-controlled pedestrian crossings and sidewalks, within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. During the works on a section of approximately 80 meters in length, the left lane of Artemis Avenue from the Courts to the city center, as well as Okkoular Street, will remain closed to traffic. Traffic towards Okkoular Street will be diverted via Kotza Tepe Street, using appropriate road markings.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in a section between the villages of Menogia and Kofinou, from Friday 26/06/2026 to Friday 31/07/2026, daily except weekends, between the hours of 08:00 – 17:00, pipeline construction works will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the works, a section of the road will be closed for a length of approximately 100 meters and traffic will be diverted to an adjacent lane using traffic lights.
Paphos District
On a section of the Paphos - Polis Chrysochous road, before the Mesogi roundabout, heading towards Polis Chrysochous, on Saturday 04/07/2026 between the hours of 9am and 5pm, work will be carried out to install an electronic variable sign on Mesogi Avenue. During the works, a section of the road will be closed for a length of approximately 50 meters and traffic will be diverted to an adjacent lane using traffic lights.
